Connect Meta Ads

Connect a Meta ad account to a Fovea workspace so spend, ROAS, CTR and purchases sync nightly for every ad.

Each workspace connects one Meta ad account. Once connected, Fovea syncs every ad (with its campaign and ad set) and its daily performance every night.

What you need

  • Admin access to the Meta Business portfolio that owns the ad account.
  • The ad account ID (it looks like act_1234567890, or just the number).
  • A system user access token with permission to read ads and insights for that account (ads_read).

Steps

  1. In Meta Business Settings, open Users > System users and create a system user (or use an existing one).
  2. Assign the ad account to that system user with at least view access.
  3. Generate a token for the system user with the ads_read permission.
  4. In Fovea, open Settings > Connected accounts for the workspace.
  5. Paste the ad account ID and the token, then save.

The first sync backfills the last 90 days. You can trigger a sync at any time from the Meta Ads tab with Sync now (Creative Manager and Admin roles).

How your token is stored

Tokens are encrypted at rest and are never shown again after you save them. The settings page only tells you whether a token is set.

What gets synced

DataDetail
AdsName, status, campaign, ad set, creative thumbnail
Daily performanceSpend, impressions, clicks, CTR, purchases, purchase value, ROAS
Video engagement3-second plays and ThruPlays, used for hook and hold rate

Nightly syncs re-pull the last 28 days, because Meta keeps adjusting attribution for recent days. Numbers for the most recent week can change slightly as a result. That is expected.

Who sees money

Spend, revenue, purchases and ROAS are only visible to roles with revenue access (Creative Manager and Admin by default). Other roles see each ad's share of spend instead, so they know which ads the account is backing without seeing the books. Admins can change this in the access control matrix. See Workspaces and roles.
